Have you ever wanted to be a film composer?
Now’s your chance to have a go, and win some great prizes too!

Pie Factory Music and award-winning film/TV composer, Michael J McEvoy (Finding Your Feet, Jazz Ambassadors, Me and Orson Welles) are offering an online workshop for 14-19 year olds. Using a clip from the anime film ‘Vexille’, Michael will talk the participants through his creative process and answer their questions about how he became a composer.

Afterwards, there’ll be an opportunity to score a short film sequence and two weeks to work on your entry. All entries will be reviewed by Michael and the Pie Factory Music team, and winners will be announced during the Ramsgate Festival of Sound. The fantastic prizes are Amazon vouchers to the value:

  • First prize: £50
  • Second prize: £30
  • Third prize: £20

How to get involved

To take part in the online workshop via Zoom, send us a Direct Message (DM) on our Instagram account @PieFactoryMusic with your name and age. We’ll then send you the link to join the Zoom workshop, which will take place on Friday 28 August, at 3pm. The workshop will last for an hour and quarter, with 15 minutes at the end for questions.
